Confession Time

Every photojournalist has a couple of assignments that they just dread shooting. For some it's the knitting nannies (sorry it's my favorite go to for really bad assignments) pets of the week or even press conferences, but in my case it's completely opposite. It's basketball. I never really took too much of a liking to basketball really. I did it because it was expected of me for what I wanted to do. But then as you can tell from my portfolio...it shows. So I decided to turn over a new leaf here in Chilli and not just get the shot, but actually push to get better. I don't have to like to be good at it. These are a few of the photos from the last 3 weeks of playoff here in Southern Ohio. Plus, when the crowds emotions are on high how can you not get caught up in the moment. Plus sometimes I like to think one of them out there is cheering for the lone photographer on the sideline... "Dang did you see him push the shutter right at the climax of the play?! Sick!" Yeah probably not.
