Chillicothe High School's C-Section prepares for the last home game of the season against East Clinton with their baby powder toss at kickoff.
So the last few weeks have been exciting, heartbreaking, tiring, wearing and amazing which is why I have been so quiet. The biggest news is that I am joining the staff of the Rockford Register Star. It has been an amazing year with the Chillicothe Gazette and I thank them everyday for the opportunity that they gave me to grow as a person and a photojournalist. I am excited for the opportunity to do more great work with the staff of the RR Star and tell the stories of the residents of Rockford.
After that a friend of mines, Suchitra Vijayan , interviewed me for the Huffington Post which I was worried was going to rub a few people the wrong way, but actually came out great and has had great response. So check that out here and share it if you have not already seen it. It's a nice piece on race and photography, which a lot of people might never looked at before.
Alright so that's all the fun stuff, now for the downer. It was rough having to leave Chillicothe because they were like family to me over the past year, but I have to head for the next big challenge. The other reason leaving was hard because I just moved two weeks ago and I had three weeks to give a two week notice, find a place to leave that accepted my dog, London McGillicutty, move all of my stuff back to Illinois, move all of my stuff in before the Kanye concert in Chicago(yes I will admit this) and find my way around in enough time to get ready for the 11th. Let's just say I am a little stressed, but it's a good reason to be stressed I have to say.
That was just a quick update on what has been going on in the world of Brent Lewis. Here are a few of my last week photos and once things start rolling in Rockford be prepared for more great work. Thanks again everyone!
